Configuration editor

  • Redis / Valkey

The configuration editor lists every parameter from CONFIG GET *, grouped and searchable, with its current value beside the default. Each parameter has an editor that fits its type. Changes collect as pending, and the panel shows the exact CONFIG SET before you apply them. In Cluster mode it reads every primary and shows where nodes differ.

  1. Open Tools › Configuration under the connection.
  2. Find the parameter with Search parameters, or browse the groups, such as Memory and eviction.
  3. Change the value. Values are checked as you type, for example “Must be a whole number”.
  4. Check the pending changes and the command, such as CONFIG SET lfu-log-factor 11 maxmemory-policy allkeys-lfu.
  5. Choose Apply, then Apply in the confirmation.

The panel then reports what was applied, for example “Applied lfu-log-factor, maxmemory-policy.” Dismiss hides the report.

On Redis 7 and later and on Valkey, the server applies the changes all or none. An older server takes one parameter at a time, so some changes may apply while others fail; the panel says which case applies.

Show narrows the list to All parameters, Changed from default, Different between nodes or Pending changes. The summary counts the parameters, how many are changed and, with several nodes, how many differ.

Some parameters cannot be changed:

  • Parameters read at startup are marked “startup only” and have no editor.
  • Secrets such as requirepass are never shown, only whether they are set. You can replace one through a password field.

In Cluster mode, Node picks All primaries, All nodes (when there are replicas) or one node. A parameter set to different values on different nodes is marked, and each node’s value is listed. In Sentinel mode, you can pick the master or a replica.

  • Rewrite config file… runs CONFIG REWRITE, which writes the running configuration to the configuration file on disk.
  • Reset statistics… runs CONFIG RESETSTAT.

Both always ask first and show the command.

If the ACL user may not run CONFIG GET, the panel says “Not allowed to read the configuration” and names the permission to grant, +config|get. Managed Redis and Valkey services often rename or disable CONFIG.
