- Elasticsearch
Once an Elasticsearch connection is open, the sidebar shows its objects in three folders, followed by the tools that work on the whole cluster.
Folders
Section titled “Folders”| Folder | What each entry shows |
|---|---|
| Indices | A health dot (green, yellow, red, or an outline when closed), the document count and size |
| Data streams | The number of backing indices. The folder appears only where the cluster has data streams |
| Aliases | The indices the alias points at |
Hover the health dot to read the health as a word.
Double-click an index, alias or data stream (or press Enter) to open its document grid.
Object menu
Section titled “Object menu”Right-click an index, alias or data stream, or use the … button that shows when you point at its row, to open its menu:
| Menu item | What it does |
|---|---|
| Browse documents | Opens the document grid |
| Open index (mappings, settings…) | Opens the index panel (indices only) |
| Search in console | Opens a console with a GET /<name>/_search request filled in |
| Delete index… | Deletes the index after showing the exact request |
| Delete data stream… | Deletes the data stream and all its backing indices after showing the request |
The menu on the Indices folder adds Create index… (see Index operations), and every folder has Refresh.
